<h1>Re-Cladding in the UAE: Why Old Facade Panels Are Being Replaced</h1><p>Across Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi, buildings from the 2000s and early 2010s are quietly getting new skins. The panels coming off are old polyethylene core sheets, fitted in the years before the UAE tightened its fire code. The panels going on are certified non-combustible and limited-combustibility grades. If you own or manage an older clad building, this is the story you are part of, and here is how the process actually works.</p><div class="ap-intro__actions"><a href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/fire-retardant-acp-comparison" class="ap-btn ap-btn--gold">Fire Grades Explained</a><a href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/blogs" class="ap-btn">Back to Blog</a></div>
</section><section class="ap-section ap-section--soft"><div class="ap-container"><h2>Why the Rules Changed</h2><p>Standard polyethylene core burns, and a facade of it lets fire travel up the outside of a building fast. A series of tower fires in the Gulf and elsewhere made the risk impossible to ignore, and the UAE responded with one of the stricter cladding codes in the region. New buildings above certain heights and occupancies must use panels classified A2-s1,d0 or better, with the paperwork to prove it, and insurers now ask the same questions the code does.</p><p>That leaves a stock of older buildings wearing yesterday's panels. Nothing forces most of them to change overnight. But every year the pressure grows from three directions at once: insurance premiums, asset value, and the plain duty owners feel toward the people inside. Re-cladding is how a 2005 building meets a 2026 standard.</p></div>
</section><section class="ap-section"><div class="ap-container"><div class="ap-head"><h2>What a Re-Cladding Project Looks Like</h2><p>The good news: buildings stay occupied, and the work runs elevation by elevation from external access.</p></div>
<div class="ap-table-wrap"><table class="ap-table"><caption>Stages of a typical UAE re-cladding project</caption><thead><tr><th>Stage</th><th>What happens</th><th>Typical duration</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>1. Survey and testing</td><td>Sample panels tested to identify the existing core</td><td>Weeks</td></tr><tr><td>2. Strip and replace</td><td>Old panels off, subframe checked, new certified panels on</td><td>Months, by elevation</td></tr><tr><td>4. Handover</td><td>Certificates filed, insurer notified, warranty issued</td><td>Days</td></tr></tbody></table></div>
<p style="margin-top:22px;">The existing subframe can often stay if it surveys well, which saves real money. And because the new panels arrive in any finish, most owners take the chance to refresh the building's look at the same time. A 20 year old tower comes out of the project both compliant and current. Our <a class="ap-text-link" href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/building-recladding">re-cladding page</a> covers the commercial side in more detail.</p></div>

<div class="ap-grid ap-grid--2"><div class="ap-card"><div><small>The floor</small><h3>Fire retardant (FR)</h3><p>A mineral filled core classified B-s1,d0. It resists ignition and slows spread, and it remains acceptable for some lower rise and lower risk buildings. On a re-clad it is the minimum worth fitting, and only where the fire consultant confirms it meets the building's category. Our <a class="ap-text-link" href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/alucopanel-fr">FR range</a> carries the full reports.</p></div></div>
<div class="ap-card"><div><small>The standard</small><h3>Non-combustible A2 and A1</h3><p>Mineral cores classified A2-s1,d0 and A1 to EN 13501-1. These do not sustain fire, and they are what UAE high rise re-cladding now specifies as a matter of course. If the building is tall, sleeps people or gathers the public, this is the honest choice, and the price gap to FR has narrowed every year.</p></div></div>

<article><h3>How do I know if my building has PE core panels?</h3><p>Age is the first clue. Cladding fitted before the code tightened is suspect by default. Certainty comes from testing: a small sample panel is removed and the core identified in a lab. It is quick, inexpensive and the only honest starting point.</p></article><article><h3>Is re-cladding legally required in the UAE?</h3><p>Requirements vary by emirate, building type and what the authorities find. Some buildings have been directed to upgrade, others act through insurance pressure or at renovation. What is certain is that the direction of travel only goes one way. Early movers choose their timing, late movers have it chosen for them.</p></article><article><h3>Can the building stay occupied during works?</h3><p>Yes, almost always. Work proceeds from outside on access equipment, elevation by elevation, with protection at ground level. Tenants notice scaffolding and occasional noise, not disruption to the building's operation.</p></article><article><h3>What does re-cladding cost?</h3><p>It scales with facade area, access difficulty and the grade specified. Against it, owners count lower premiums, restored asset value and a building that leases better. We price the panel supply side quickly from elevation drawings, and the <a class="ap-text-link" href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/blogs/post/acp-sheet-price-uae-guide">price guide</a> explains the drivers.</p></article></div>

<h1>ACP for Schools and Public Buildings in the UAE</h1><p>Schools, universities, clinics and government buildings share a set of demands most projects never face all at once. The cladding must be genuinely safe, because the occupants are children or patients. It must survive decades of hard use on a public budget. And it still has to look welcoming, because these are the buildings communities judge. Here is how ACP answers all three, and what to specify.</p><div class="ap-intro__actions"><a href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/approvals" class="ap-btn ap-btn--gold">Our Approvals</a><a href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/blogs" class="ap-btn">Back to Blog</a></div>
</section><section class="ap-section ap-section--soft"><div class="ap-container"><h2>Safety First Is Not a Slogan Here</h2><p>For schools and healthcare buildings the fire conversation is short: specify non-combustible. A1 and A2-s1,d0 panels do not feed a fire and produce minimal smoke, and smoke is the number that matters most when a building full of children needs to move out calmly. The regulatory side agrees. Education and healthcare occupancies sit in the strictest cladding categories in the UAE fire code, and approvals ask for the classification reports up front.</p><p>This is also a category where the paperwork is not a formality. Public projects are audited, and the panel on the wall must match the Mill Test Certificate (MTC) in the file, batch for batch. It is exactly the situation where buying manufacturer direct earns its keep: our <a class="ap-text-link" href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/alucopanel-a1">A1</a> and A2 panels ship with classification reports and <a class="ap-text-link" href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/uae-civil-defence-approval">Civil Defence approvals</a> tied to the actual product.</p></div>

<div class="ap-grid ap-grid--2"><div class="ap-card"><div><small>Durability</small><h3>Hard wearing where it counts</h3><p>Ground floors of schools take footballs, bags and bicycles. Specify 0.5 mm skins so panels shrug off knocks, and consider stronger colours low down where scuffs would show on pale finishes. Damaged cassettes swap individually, which matters when repairs must happen during a half term break.</p></div></div>
<div class="ap-card"><div><small>Maintenance</small><h3>A facility budget's friend</h3><p>Public buildings live on maintenance contracts. Coil coated panels need washing and nothing else. No repainting cycles, no render cracks, no staining concrete. Over a 20 year life that difference funds classrooms, not scaffolding.</p></div></div>
</div><p style="margin-top:22px;">Design flexibility does real work in this sector too. Schools use colour banding for wayfinding and identity, universities use crisp metallic panels to signal a modern campus, and clinics lean on calm, light tones. All of it comes from the same <a class="ap-text-link" href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/acp-colours-finishes">colour range</a>, so the safety specification never limits the design.</p></div>
</section><section class="ap-section ap-section--soft"><div class="ap-container"><div class="ap-head"><h2>A Specification That Passes Audit</h2></div>
<p>For education and healthcare facades we recommend writing it plainly: 4 mm panel, 0.5 mm skins, core classified A2-s1,d0 or A1 to EN 13501-1, high performance coil coating with written colour warranty, manufacturer classification report and Civil Defence approval submitted with the material approval. One paragraph, no room for substitution. If a bid comes back cheaper by changing any of those words, that is not a saving, it is a different product.</p><p>Hospitals and clinics carry a few extra considerations around hygiene and interior use, and we cover those separately on the <a class="ap-text-link" href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/hospital-healthcare-cladding">healthcare cladding page</a>.</p></div>

<article><h3>What fire rating do school buildings need in the UAE?</h3><p>Education occupancies sit in the strictest categories, and in practice new school facades are specified A2 or A1. The panel face resists knocks that would chip render or crack tiles, and individual panels replace cleanly if something does get through. Thousands of school and university buildings across the Gulf run ACP facades.</p></article><article><h3>Can panels help with building identity?</h3><p>Very much. Colour banding, logo colours and mixed finishes cost little because the colour is in the coating, not applied later. <h1>ACP for Residential Buildings and Villas in the UAE</h1><p>ACP built its name on towers and showrooms, but some of the best looking projects we supply are homes. Villa owners in Dubai and Sharjah use panels for entrance features and boundary walls. Developers use them to give apartment buildings in Ajman and Abu Dhabi a clean modern face on a sensible budget. Crisp shadow gaps between cassettes give the geometric look UAE villa architecture loves.</p><p><strong>Apartment building facades.</strong> For low and mid rise residential blocks, ACP over blockwork is the standard way to get a contemporary elevation. It also hides the services and movement joints that spoil painted facades within a few years.</p><p><strong>Boundary walls and pergolas.</strong> Panels take garden walls, car shade structures and outdoor kitchens from builder grade to designed. The same washability that serves towers means fingerprints and dust rinse off.</p></div>

<p>For a villa feature, ACP sits in the same conversation as quality tiling or stone, and below real timber once you count maintenance. For a full apartment facade it is usually the cheapest way to a modern skin that lasts. What moves the number is grade, finish and how much folding the design needs. Straight panels are economical. Complex 3D features cost fabrication time. <h1>ACP for Offices and Commercial Buildings in the UAE</h1><p>Drive any commercial street from Sheikh Zayed Road to Al Ain and count the facades. Most of what you see is aluminium composite panel. There is a reason offices, showrooms, malls and mixed use buildings keep choosing it: no other cladding gives a commercial developer the same mix of appearance, speed, fire compliance and cost. This guide covers what matters when the building earns rent.</p><div class="ap-intro__actions"><a href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/facade-cladding" class="ap-btn ap-btn--gold">Facade Cladding</a><a href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/blogs" class="ap-btn">Back to Blog</a></div>

ACP delivers a crisp, modern skin in any colour, with metallic, wood and stone finishes that read as far more expensive than they are. Re-branding a frontage is a panel swap, not a rebuild.</p><p><strong>Speed.</strong> Commercial projects run on handover dates. Panels are fabricated off site while framing goes up, then fixed fast. Weeks matter when fit out crews are waiting and rent starts on a date in a contract.</p><p><strong>Compliance.</strong> Offices, malls and hotels sit high on the fire risk ladder, and UAE rules answer with strict cladding requirements. Certified A2 and A1 panels with <a class="ap-text-link" href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/uae-civil-defence-approval">Civil Defence approval</a> pass through the permit process cleanly. Uncertified stock does not, and on a commercial programme that discovery is very expensive.</p><p><strong>Servicing.</strong> A commercial facade must look sharp for decades on a facility management budget. Coil coated panels wash clean, and single cassettes can be replaced after damage without touching the rest of the elevation.</p></div>

<div class="ap-grid ap-grid--2"><div class="ap-card"><div><small>Decision 1</small><h3>Corporate colour matching</h3><p>Brands live on exact colour. Coil coating can match a corporate shade from a physical sample and hold it across every panel and every reorder. Lock the match early, sign a sample, and keep it with the project file. Matching "close enough" from mixed trade stock is how a frontage ends up two tones of the same blue.</p></div></div>
<div class="ap-card"><div><small>Decision 2</small><h3>Solid versus glazing mix</h3><p>Full glass looks premium and costs premium, both to build and to cool. Many UAE commercial buildings mix curtain wall at street level with ACP above, cutting cost and heat gain while keeping the sharp look. The panel lines can follow the glazing grid so the mix reads as one design.</p></div></div>
</div></div></section><section class="ap-section ap-section--soft ap-faq"><div class="ap-container"><div class="ap-head"><h2>Commercial Building FAQs</h2></div>
<article><h3>Is ACP allowed on high rise commercial buildings in the UAE?</h3><p>Yes, with the right grade. Current rules for tall and high occupancy buildings call for non-combustible cladding, which in practice means A2 or A1 panels with Third-Party Certificates to show it. The days of PE core on towers are over, and rightly so.</p></article><article><h3>What does a commercial ACP facade cost?</h3><p>It depends on grade, finish and area, and it sits well below curtain wall. Our <a class="ap-text-link" href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/blogs/post/acp-sheet-price-uae-guide">price guide</a> explains the cost drivers, and project quantities always price better than the headline sheet rate.</p></article><article><h3>Can we re-clad an occupied office building?</h3><p>Yes. Re-cladding runs elevation by elevation from external access, and tenants typically stay in place. Many UAE towers have upgraded from old PE core panels to certified A2 exactly this way.</p></article><article><h3>How fast can panels be delivered for a commercial programme?</h3><p>Because we manufacture in the UAE, standard colours move in days and custom production is measured in weeks, not shipping seasons. Confirm quantities early and the facade will never be the critical path.</p></article></div>

<h1>ACP Installation in the UAE: What Actually Happens on Site</h1><p>A facade lives or dies on installation. We have seen premium panels ruined by rushed fixing, and mid range panels still looking sharp after fifteen years because the installer knew the trade. If you are a building owner or a contractor buying ACP for the first time, this is the process you should expect to see, stage by stage, and the points where it pays to look closely.</p><div class="ap-intro__actions"><a href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/acp-fabrication-installation-uae" class="ap-btn ap-btn--gold">Fabrication &amp; Installation</a><a href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/blogs" class="ap-btn">Back to Blog</a></div>
</section><section class="ap-section ap-section--soft"><div class="ap-container"><h2>Before Anyone Touches the Wall</h2><p>Good installers spend serious time on the survey. The building is measured as built, not as drawn, because concrete never quite matches the drawings. From that survey come the shop drawings: panel layout, joint positions, cassette sizes and fixing points. This is the stage to review branding, panel module and joint lines, because changes cost nothing on paper and a fortune on site.</p><p>Approvals run in parallel. For facade work the contractor submits the panel's fire classification and <a class="ap-text-link" href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/uae-civil-defence-approval">Civil Defence approval</a> with the material submittal. If the supplier cannot produce those documents quickly, the programme slips before a single bracket is fixed. It is the most preventable delay in cladding work.</p></div>
</section><section class="ap-section"><div class="ap-container"><div class="ap-head"><h2>The Five Stages on Site</h2></div>
<div class="ap-table-wrap"><table class="ap-table"><caption>Typical ACP cladding installation sequence in the UAE</caption><thead><tr><th>Stage</th><th>What happens</th><th>What to check</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>1. Framing</td><td>Brackets and aluminium subframe fixed and levelled on the wall</td><td>Alignment, fixings into structure, tolerance for movement</td></tr><tr><td>2. Fabrication</td><td>Panels routed, folded into cassettes, stiffeners bonded</td><td>Clean fold lines, correct returns, protective film intact</td></tr><tr><td>3. Panel fixing</td><td>Cassettes hung or riveted to the subframe, floor by floor</td><td>Consistent joints, panel direction arrows followed</td></tr><tr><td>4. Sealing</td><td>Joints closed with backer rod and sealant, or left open on ventilated systems</td><td>Neat lines, weep paths left clear, no smeared sealant</td></tr><tr><td>5. Handover</td><td>Film peeled, facade washed, snags closed</td><td>Film off within weeks, not months, in UAE sun</td></tr></tbody></table></div>
<p style="margin-top:22px;">One detail worth its own sentence: panels carry a direction arrow on the protective film because coil coated colour has a grain. Fix one cassette upside down and a metallic facade shows a patch in a different shade forever. Good installers check every arrow. So should whoever signs the handover.</p></div>
</section><section class="ap-section ap-section--soft"><div class="ap-container"><div class="ap-head"><h2>Two Details That Separate Good From Cheap</h2></div>
<div class="ap-grid ap-grid--2"><div class="ap-card"><div><small>Detail 1</small><h3>Movement joints</h3><p>A Gulf facade swings through big temperature changes every day, and aluminium moves with it. The system needs designed gaps and sliding fixings so panels can breathe. Cassettes screwed tight with no allowance will bow within a summer, and the wave you see across some facades at sunset is exactly this mistake, made permanent.</p></div></div>
<div class="ap-card"><div><small>Detail 2</small><h3>Ventilation and drainage</h3><p>Behind a <a class="ap-text-link" href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/ventilated-facade-systems">ventilated facade</a>, air moves and any water that gets in drains out through weep paths. Blocked cavities and sealed weeps trap moisture against the wall. It is invisible at handover and expensive at year five. Ask how the cavity drains and expect a confident answer.</p></div></div>
</div></div></section><section class="ap-section ap-section--soft ap-faq"><div class="ap-container"><div class="ap-head"><h2>Installation FAQs</h2></div>
<article><h3>How long does ACP installation take?</h3><p>As a rough guide, an experienced crew fixes 30 to 50 square metres per day once framing is done. A villa facade runs a few weeks end to end. A tower is programmed floor by floor alongside the other trades. Fabrication capacity is usually the real bottleneck, not the fixing.</p></article><article><h3>Do you install as well as supply?</h3><p>We manufacture and supply, and we provide fabrication support with CNC cutting, routing and folding. For fixing we work alongside experienced UAE facade contractors and can point you to crews who know our panels well. See our <a class="ap-text-link" href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/acp-fabrication-installation-uae">fabrication and installation page</a>.</p></article><article><h3>Can ACP be installed over an existing wall?</h3><p>Usually yes. The subframe fixes to blockwork or concrete and the new facade sits proud of the old surface. This is exactly how re-cladding projects replace old panels without stripping the building back to structure.</p></article><article><h3>What goes wrong most often?</h3><p>In our experience: thin skinned panels that show every fixing, joints with no movement allowance, sealant smeared instead of tooled, and protective film baked on by the sun because it was left for months. Every one of them is avoidable for free.</p></article></div>

<h1>ACP vs Solid Aluminium vs HPL: Choosing Facade Cladding in the UAE</h1><p>Three materials dominate facade shortlists in the UAE: aluminium composite panels, solid aluminium sheet and high-pressure laminate. All three have their place, but they behave very differently once you look at weight, fire performance, cost and how they age in the Gulf. Here is an honest comparison from a manufacturer that answers these questions for consultants every week.</p><div class="ap-intro__actions"><a href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/products" class="ap-btn ap-btn--gold">ALUCOPANEL® Products</a><a href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/blogs" class="ap-btn">Back to Blog</a></div>

It is non-combustible by nature and very robust. For the same stiffness it weighs more, large flat areas tend to show waviness, and fabrication costs more.</p><p><strong>HPL, or high-pressure laminate.</strong> Compressed resin and fibre boards with a decorative face. The colour and texture range is excellent and it is popular on balconies and low-rise features. Its fire classification usually stops at B-s1,d0, and the edges need careful detailing in Gulf humidity.</p></div>

<h1>What Makes an ACP Panel Survive UAE Weather</h1><p>Fifty degree roof temperatures. Sunlight that bleaches street signs in a couple of summers. Salt air on one side of the city and sandstorms on the other. The UAE is one of the hardest places on earth to keep a facade looking new, and it is exactly where a cheap panel shows its real quality first. Here is what separates a panel that shrugs off twenty Gulf summers from one that chalks and fades by year five.</p><div class="ap-intro__actions"><a href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/acp-colours-finishes" class="ap-btn ap-btn--gold">Colours &amp; Finishes</a><a href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/blogs" class="ap-btn">Back to Blog</a></div>
</section><section class="ap-section ap-section--soft"><div class="ap-container"><h2>The Coating Does Most of the Work</h2><p>UV resistance lives almost entirely in the paint system. Panels are coil coated in the factory, where the coating is baked onto the aluminium in controlled layers before the panel is even assembled. The grade of that coating decides everything. A basic polyester finish is fine indoors and acceptable on shaded signage. Put it on a south facing UAE facade and it will fade visibly within a few years. A high performance coil coating system is built for exactly this exposure. It holds colour and gloss for decades and it is what sits behind a written colour warranty of 10 to 20 years.</p><p>Colour choice plays a quiet role too. Dark, strong colours absorb more heat and show weathering sooner than lighter and metallic tones. There is a reason so many Gulf towers wear silver, champagne and light stone shades. If the design calls for deep colours, specify the top coating grade and accept a little more maintenance. The full range is on our <a class="ap-text-link" href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/acp-colours-finishes">colours and finishes page</a>.</p></div>

<p style="margin-top:22px;">Notice that two of the four are not about the panel at all. They are about design and care. <h1>Specifying ACP for a UAE Project: What the Technical Datasheet Really Says</h1><p>Most problems with aluminium composite panels start on paper, long before anything reaches site. A specification says "4 mm ACP" and everyone assumes they agree. Then one bidder prices a panel with half the aluminium of another, and the cheapest number wins. This guide walks through the lines on a Technical Datasheet that actually matter for a UAE project, in the order we check them ourselves.</p><div class="ap-intro__actions"><a href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/downloads" class="ap-btn ap-btn--gold">Get Technical Datasheets</a><a href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/blogs" class="ap-btn">Back to Blog</a></div>
</section><section class="ap-section ap-section--soft"><div class="ap-container"><h2>Thickness Is Two Numbers, Not One</h2><p>A 4 mm panel is not 4 mm of aluminium. It is two aluminium skins bonded to a core, and the skin gauge is the number that decides stiffness, dent resistance and how the panel behaves when routed and folded. The facade standard is <strong>4 mm total with 0.5 mm skins</strong>. For signage and interior work, <a class="ap-text-link" href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/3mm-acp-sheet-uae">3 mm sheets</a> with lighter skins are normal and sensible. What you never want is a facade quote built on thin skins. If the Technical Datasheet does not state the skin gauge, treat that as an answer in itself.</p><p>The other silent number is the <strong>core</strong>. Polyethylene, fire retardant mineral, A2 and A1 cores all fit inside the same 4 mm. They look identical on delivery day. Only the Technical Datasheet and the fire report tell them apart, which is why both documents belong in your project file, not just the invoice.</p></div>
</section><section class="ap-section"><div class="ap-container"><div class="ap-head"><h2>Standard Sizes in the UAE Market</h2><p>Panels are produced from coil, so width is fixed by the coil and length is cut to order. These are the sizes you can specify without custom production.</p></div>
<div class="ap-table-wrap"><table class="ap-table"><caption>Common ACP sheet dimensions for UAE projects</caption><thead><tr><th>Dimension</th><th>Standard options</th><th>Notes</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Width</td><td>1220, 1250, 1500 mm</td><td>1220 mm suits most cassette layouts</td></tr><tr><td>Length</td><td>2440, 3200, 4000, up to 5800 mm</td><td>Custom lengths cut to order</td></tr><tr><td>Total thickness</td><td>3 mm, 4 mm, 6 mm</td><td>4 mm is the facade standard</td></tr><tr><td>Skin gauge</td><td>0.25 mm to 0.5 mm</td><td>0.5 mm for facades, always</td></tr></tbody></table></div>
<p style="margin-top:22px;">Planning panel layout around standard widths cuts waste, and waste is money on every facade. Your fabricator will thank you for checking this before the shop drawings, not after. The full tables live on our <a class="ap-text-link" href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/aluminium-composite-panel">aluminium composite panel page</a>.</p></div>
</section><section class="ap-section ap-section--soft"><div class="ap-container"><div class="ap-head"><h2>The Lines People Skip, and Should Not</h2></div>
<div class="ap-grid ap-grid--2"><div class="ap-card"><div><small>Read this</small><h3>Fire classification</h3><p>The EN 13501-1 line is the one Civil Defence will ask about. A2-s1,d0 means non-combustible with minimal smoke. B-s1,d0 is the fire retardant class. Check the classification is for the exact product and thickness you are specifying, and match it against the <a class="ap-text-link" href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/fire-retardant-acp-comparison">grade your building needs</a>.</p></div></div>
<div class="ap-card"><div><small>Read this too</small><h3>Coating and colour</h3><p>The Technical Datasheet states the coil coating system, gloss level and colour warranty. In UAE exposure the coating grade decides how the facade looks in year ten. Specify the coating system and warranty years in the contract documents, and keep a signed colour sample with the project file.</p></div></div>
</div><p style="margin-top:22px;">Two more lines worth thirty seconds: <strong>tolerances</strong> on thickness and flatness, which decide how crisp the finished facade looks, and <strong>the production standard</strong> the panel is made to, which tells you the factory runs a controlled process.</p></div>
</section><section class="ap-section"><div class="ap-container"><div class="ap-head"><h2>A One Paragraph Specification That Works</h2></div>
<p>If you take nothing else from this page, write your specification like this: "Aluminium composite panel, 4 mm total thickness, 0.5 mm aluminium skins both faces, A2-s1,d0 core to EN 13501-1, high performance coil coating in [colour], with manufacturer fire classification report, Civil Defence approval and written colour warranty submitted before order." One sentence, and every bidder is now pricing the same panel. That single paragraph has saved more UAE facades than any inspection ever has.</p></div>

<h1>How to Choose an ACP Supplier in the UAE: a 10 Point Checklist</h1><p>The UAE has no shortage of companies selling aluminium composite panels. Manufacturers, distributors, stockists and traders all compete for the same projects, and from the outside their websites look much the same. The difference shows up later, when a certificate is missing at approval stage or a colour arrives two shades off. Here is the checklist we would use if we were on your side of the table.</p><div class="ap-intro__actions"><a href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/about-us" class="ap-btn ap-btn--gold">About ALUCOPANEL®</a><a href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/blogs" class="ap-btn">Back to Blog</a></div>
</section><section class="ap-section ap-section--soft"><div class="ap-container"><h2>The 10 Point Checklist</h2><p><strong>1. Manufacturer or middleman.</strong> Ask directly: do you make the panel or resell it? Both can serve you well, but you need to know who stands behind the warranty and how long a special colour will take. A <a class="ap-text-link" href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/aluminium-composite-panel">UAE manufacturer</a> controls production. A trader controls only what is already in the warehouse.</p><p><strong>2. Third-Party Fire Certificates that match the product.</strong> Every serious supplier can show EN 13501-1 classification reports. Check the product name, core type and thickness on the report against the panel you are being offered. A Third-Party Certificate for a different panel from the same factory does not count.</p><p><strong>3. Civil Defence approvals.</strong> For facade work in the UAE you want a supplier whose panels already carry <a class="ap-text-link" href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/approvals">Civil Defence approval</a> in your emirate. It removes weeks of uncertainty from your own submission.</p><p><strong>4. Skin gauge in writing.</strong> Ask for total thickness and skin thickness on the quotation itself. Suppliers with nothing to hide write 0.5 mm without blinking. Vague answers here predict problems everywhere else.</p><p><strong>5. Real stock and real lead times.</strong> Ask what is in stock today and what the lead time is for a custom colour. Then ask what happens if you need 200 extra sheets mid-project. The answer tells you how production actually works behind the sales talk.</p></div>
</section><section class="ap-section"><div class="ap-container"><p><strong>6. Coating and warranty terms.</strong> Gulf sun is the hardest test a coating faces. Ask which coil coating system is used and how many years the colour warranty runs in UAE exposure, and get the warranty conditions in writing. A 20 year warranty with impossible cleaning conditions is worth less than an honest 15.</p><p><strong>7. Colour consistency.</strong> Ask how they guarantee batch to batch colour. Coil coated panels from one production run match. Mixed shipments do not. This is the single most common complaint we hear about imported stock.</p><p><strong>8. Fabrication support.</strong> Can they cut, rout and fold, or connect you with fabricators who know their panel? A supplier with a <a class="ap-text-link" href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/acp-fabrication-installation-uae">fabrication network</a> saves you from being alone between delivery and installation.</p><p><strong>9. Project references you can visit.</strong> In the UAE the reference building is usually a short drive away. A supplier who names <a class="ap-text-link" href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/projects">real projects</a> is showing you a decade of their panels in the local climate.</p><p><strong>10. Documentation without chasing.</strong> Technical Datasheets, test reports, approvals and colour charts should arrive the day you ask, not after three reminders. Try it before you order. Our own <a class="ap-text-link" href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/downloads">downloads page</a> is public for exactly this reason.</p></div>

<h1>ACP Sheet Prices in the UAE: What You Actually Pay For</h1><p>Ask five suppliers for an ACP sheet price in the UAE and you will get five different numbers. That is not because someone is cheating you. It is because "ACP sheet" covers everything from a thin signage panel to a certified non-combustible facade panel, and the two are completely different products. This guide explains what moves the price, so you can read a quotation and know exactly what sits behind the number.</p><div class="ap-intro__actions"><a href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/acp-price-uae" class="ap-btn ap-btn--gold">Current Price Guide</a><a href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/blogs" class="ap-btn">Back to Blog</a></div>
</section><section class="ap-section ap-section--soft"><div class="ap-container"><h2>The Four Things That Set the Price</h2><p><strong>The core</strong> is the biggest single factor. A standard polyethylene core is the cheapest. A fire retardant (FR) core costs more because the mineral filler is more expensive to produce. A2 and A1 non-combustible cores sit at the top, and on most UAE facade projects they are not optional, because <a class="ap-text-link" href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/uae-civil-defence-approval">Civil Defence rules</a> decide the grade for you.</p><p><strong>Skin thickness</strong> is where cheap quotes hide. A facade panel should carry 0.5 mm aluminium skins. Some traders quote 4 mm sheets with 0.25 mm or even 0.15 mm skins. The sheet looks identical in a photo and costs far less, but it dents easily and has no business on a building. Always compare skins, not just total thickness.</p><p><strong>The coating</strong> matters more in the Gulf than almost anywhere else. A high performance coil coating system that holds its colour through UAE summers costs more than a basic polyester finish. Metallic, sparkle, wood and <a class="ap-text-link" href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/stone-marble-finish-acp-uae">stone effect finishes</a> add a margin over plain solids.</p><p><strong>Order size and cutting</strong> round it out. Full pallets of standard sizes are cheaper per sheet than small mixed orders, and custom lengths or colour matching carry a setup cost.</p></div>
</section><section class="ap-section"><div class="ap-container"><div class="ap-head"><h2>What Changes the Number on Your Quote</h2><p>Use this table as a mental checklist when two quotations look far apart. Somewhere in these rows you will find the reason.</p></div>
<div class="ap-table-wrap"><table class="ap-table"><caption>ACP price factors in the UAE market</caption><thead><tr><th>Factor</th><th>Budget end</th><th>Premium end</th><th>Price impact</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Core grade</td><td>PE (signage only)</td><td>A2 or A1 non-combustible</td><td>High</td></tr><tr><td>Skin gauge</td><td>0.15 to 0.25 mm</td><td>0.5 mm both faces</td><td>High</td></tr><tr><td>Coating</td><td>Basic polyester</td><td>High performance coil coating</td><td>Medium</td></tr><tr><td>Finish</td><td>Solid colours</td><td>Metallic, wood, stone, custom match</td><td>Medium</td></tr><tr><td>Certification</td><td>None supplied</td><td>EN 13501-1 reports and approvals</td><td>Medium</td></tr><tr><td>Order size</td><td>Mixed small lots</td><td>Full pallets, standard sizes</td><td>Low to medium</td></tr></tbody></table></div>
</div></section><section class="ap-section ap-section--soft"><div class="ap-container"><div class="ap-head"><h2>Where You Buy Changes What You Pay</h2></div>
<div class="ap-grid ap-grid--2"><div class="ap-card"><div><small>Route 1</small><h3>Manufacturer direct</h3><p>Buying from a UAE manufacturer means factory pricing, fresh production in the exact colour and grade you need, and Mill Test Certificates (MTC) that match the actual batch. Lead times are short because nothing sits on the water. This is the standard route for projects, and it is how we supply. Wholesale and project quantities get the best rates.</p></div></div>
<div class="ap-card"><div><small>Route 2</small><h3>Traders and stockists</h3><p>Trading companies hold imported stock in common colours. They can be quick for a few sheets, and for small signage jobs that is often fine. The risks are unknown skin gauge, no Mill Test Certificates (MTC), and colour that varies between shipments. If the sheet is going on a building, ask for the fire report before you ask for the price.</p></div></div>
</div><p style="margin-top:22px;">There is a place for both routes. Our advice is simple: the closer the panel gets to a facade, the closer you should buy to the factory. The <a class="ap-text-link" href="https://www.alucopanel.ae/buy-acp-uae">buy ACP page</a> explains how ordering works with us across the Emirates.</p></div>
</section><section class="ap-section"><div class="ap-container"><div class="ap-head"><h2>How to Compare Quotes Properly</h2></div>
<p>Never compare on dirhams per sheet alone. Write down the five numbers that define the panel: total thickness, skin gauge, core grade, coating system and warranty years. Then ask every supplier to confirm the same five in writing. The moment you do this, most "cheap" quotes quietly become the same price as everyone else, or they disappear. Ask for the fire classification report and check the panel name on the report matches the panel on the quote. Finally, check delivery. A price ex-works Jebel Ali and a price delivered to site in Abu Dhabi are different numbers.</p></div>
</section><section class="ap-section ap-section--soft ap-faq"><div class="ap-container"><div class="ap-head"><h2>ACP Price FAQs</h2></div>
<article><h3>How much does an ACP sheet cost in the UAE?</h3><p>A realistic range runs from budget signage sheets at the low end to certified A1 facade panels at several times that figure. The spread is wide because core, skins and coating vary so much. Send us your specification and quantity and we will price it the same day.</p></article><article><h3>Why are A1 and A2 grades more expensive?</h3><p>The mineral core costs more to produce than polyethylene, and certified panels carry the cost of testing and approvals. On a facade that premium buys you compliance and, more importantly, a building that does not feed a fire.</p></article><article><h3>Is imported ACP cheaper than UAE made panels?</h3><p>Sometimes on paper. Once you add shipping, the wait, and the risk that Mill Test Certificates (MTC) do not match the batch, local manufacturing usually wins on delivered cost for project work. It also removes the colour variation problem between shipments.</p></article><article><h3>Do prices change with aluminium prices?</h3><p>Yes. Aluminium is traded globally and coil prices follow it, so quotations carry a validity period. If your project is months away, agree the specification now and lock the price closer to production.</p></article></div>
